MBA from London Business School

London Business School (LBS) is a business school and a constituent college of the federal University of London. LBS was founded in 1964 and awards post-graduate degrees (Master's degrees in management and finance, MBA and PhD). Its motto is "To have a profound impact on the way the world does business".

Ranking

The MBA program at LBS is widely considered to be one of the top 10 in the world. In the Financial Times' 2020 Global MBA Rankings, LBS ranked 7th in the world.

The LBS MBA is aimed at people who have gained some high-quality work experience, but who are at a relatively early stage in their career. It is suitable for people who want to increase their knowledge of business and management to:

  • enhance their existing career and accelerate their promotion prospects
  • change career by changing function, or industry
  • start their own business

The highly international nature of the programme will appeal if you are looking for a career with international mobility. Above all, the MBA prepares students for general management with a global outlook rather than US-centric or Euro-centric one.

The average GMAT score for the Class of MBA2021 was 701, with a class range of 600 to 800.

The Duration of MBA program is 15 to 21 months. The MBA Programme has 15, 18, and 21-month exit points. These time frames capture the amount of study you are expected to undertake.

 

The PSU/Govt Effect

10% of the class constitutes of PSU background people.

 

Placement Figures

Average Package: Rs 75 lakhs/annum (approx. in Indian currency)

In UK pounds, the salaries for MBA class of 2019 were –

  • Average: £83,295
  • Maximum: £140,000
  • Minimum: £30,000

Fees and Financing

Tuition fees for the 2020 MBA intake are £87,900.

The tuition fee covers the full length of the 15-21-month programme. Also covered by the fees are flights and accommodation for the Global Business Experience. In addition to the School fees, there is a Student Association Fee of £260 that covers the Student Association (SA) subscription.

The following scholarships can be availed by Indian Students –

  • The Inlaks Foundation Scholarships
  • Eligibility: Scholarships are available for graduate courses at European institutions in subjects including Business Administration. The scholarships are not awarded to anyone who has already started a course of study or a project abroad.
  • Award Amounts: The scholarships cover one-way travel, tuition fees and adequate living expenses for the period granted.

  • The Narotam Sekhsaria Scholarship Program
  • Scholarships are available to Indian students pursuing postgraduate studies both in India and abroad.
  • Award Amounts: Scholarships consist of an interest-free loan of up to ten lac rupees towards the cost of tuition fees.

Admission Process

For the application for the August 2021 intake, following are the four important steps:

  • Prepare for and take your GMAT or GRE test
  • Notify your two professional referees
  • Begin drafting and writing your essays.
    • Question 1. (500 words) What are your post-MBA goals and how will your prior experience and the London Business School programme contribute towards these?
    • Question 2. (500 words) (This question is optional) Is there any other information you believe the Admissions Committee should know about you and your application to London Business School?
  • Selected applicants are invited for an interview conducted by alumni or senior admissions staff, usually in the region in which student is based.
